At SNG Engineers we're a team of client-focused structural engineers delivering practical structural solutions across the residential sector — from new builds and extensions to complex renovation projects across South East Queensland. We're seeking a motivated Senior Structural Engineer with Chartered or RPEQ status (or eligibility within 12 months) to join our Brisbane-based team, playing a pivotal role in delivering structural designs and advice from concept through to construction.

We work across residential and light commercial projects, from soil testing through to construction-stage support, and value practical, technically sound engineering delivered by a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, practical structural designs, calculations and documentation
  • Conduct site inspections and provide concise, actionable advice to clients and builders
  • Work closely with architects, designers and clients to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and drafters
  • Ensure all work meets the BCA, Australian Standards and local council requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of timber, steel and concrete design
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as Microstran, SLABS, Tekla Tedds and Hyne
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong understanding of SEQ residential construction practices

Experience Requirements

  • 5–7 years' experience in residential structural engineering (minimum 5 years required)
  • Chartered or RPEQ status (or near completion within 12 months)
  • Working rights in Australia (required)
